The final section of this introductory Spanish course outlines numerous situations in which set phrases may prove helpful. It is a self-contained unit; in other words, one need not master the other portions of the course in order to successfully use this one. It consists of standard phrases applicable to a number of situations, such as speaking about languages, meeting people and expressing opinions, and asking for or providing directions. Here you can also learn basic phrases for requesting accommodations or communicating by telephone or email, as well as shopping for clothing, bargaining, dining in restaurants, and seeking help during emergencies. This section is particularly useful for travelers already packing their bags for an excursion – but also for beginning Spanish students eagerly considering spending their next vacation south of the border.
