This
section explains many elementary aspects of Spanish grammar, laying
the foundation for more in-depth study. It includes both definite
and indefinite articles, and pronouns, including regional differences.
It explains the conjugation of regular verbs, as well as irregular
verbs such as hay (there is/are), tener (to have), ser and estar (to
be) and their uses, ir (to go), and hacer (to do/make). Other sections
show the simple construction of the future tense, and how to make
sentences negative, along with noting negative words (e.g., nothing,
nobody). Still others cover common adjectives, as well as possessive
and demonstrative adjectives, and their position in sentences. The
section concludes with question words and how to form questions. Together
the Basic Grammar and Fundamentals sections permit the learner to
manipulate the Spanish language well enough to get by in Latin America.
